Big Girl Bed!

Yet another step closer to being our big girl and another step farther away from being our little baby.

We all went to IKEA to pick up Maribel's "Big Girl Bed" and as we were wondering if we really want to do this so soon, we knew Maribel was ready and so excited! She has been napping in her Elmo toddler bed at Grandma and Grandpa's for a fortnight now with little issues. The main issue is her love for jumping on her bed. So, now with her being potty trained we knew it was time. *sniff* Our baby is growing up so fast.

She had to help Daddy walk her bed down the isle.

Daddy insisted on her having a new pillow for her new bed. Of course she had to try it out first ;0)

We heard something fall of her bed, like a toy or something but we went to check on her just in case.

Too stinkin' cute!

Fuzzy Lip? Seriously?!?!?

Today is my day of errands, chores and a little scrapping too. So I headed out to Target to grab a few things, Kitty litter, cat food, shampoo, conditioner, bleach, and a valance for DD's room. You know, everyday stuff. After I'm done and waiting at a red light, I take a peak in the RV mirror to see that my brows have been a little neglected. I wont' say how much, but impulsively I quickly got into the other lane when the light cleared, to pull into the little nail and wax salon I frequent when I need some beautifying.

I walk in and they put me into the wax room right away, woo hoo no wait! So I sat on the chair and the lady asked me what I would like done as she handed me the mirror. I informed her that my brows need some love and attention and she then asked me, "And your upper lip too?" Um excuse me? I took a peek into the mirror right away and didn't see anything needing attention, and she repeats, "Wax the Upper lip too?" I politely replied, "No thank you, just the eye brows." This lady wouldn't give up! She asked about my lip like seriously 6 times! Even pointed out that it's a "little long". Yeah, um I never noticed it before, and in my mind, if it never bothered me before, why mess with it now? KWIM?

She proceeded to do her thing all in silence (thank goodness, 'cause I really didn't know what to say after all that) then she handed me the mirror. I was pleased and happy that I look halfway decent again and began to sit up to leave. The technician then said," So come back in a month and we can do the upper lip too,"
Come on! Seriously?!?!?

I'm not super bothered by it, I just can't believe her persistance. I know about suggestive selling but seriously!
I'm a pretty easy going person and I laugh can laugh at it now. I mean, no one else, not even my sister has ever mentioned it, and she mentions everything as only sisters do.

But hey, at least my eyebrows are pretty again. Now me and my yetti lip will head to the scrap room and work on some challenges!

I'm surprised she didn't say anything about my yesterday's eyeshadow!

My Week of Smiles

It's always nice to look out your window on a nice Saturday morning to see something that makes you smile isn't it?

As the week finished and the weekend begins I've been thinking about things that have made me smile this passed week and of course I am the sharing type

My week of smiles include:

~Finishing 4 LOs
~Staying up uber late scrapbooking and not being able to sleep, then suddenly on the baby monitor I heard Maribel shift in her bed, then mumble something then I heard a clear, "Mommy" more mumbling and then another "Mommy". I fell asleep with a smile on my face.
~Watching a movie with DH before bed holding hands
~Talking with my sister and hearing her sweet children in the background laughing and driving their mommy nuts!
~Hearing about my niece holding a picture of Jesus telling people that her Gradmam went to go see "This guy"
~We needed a few things at the grocery store and Miss Boo insisted on wearing her Elmo slippers. Well why not? You’re only a kid once so I say “have fun” while the little old ladies say , “Aw how cute!”
~So far Maribel has taken to her “real” panties pretty well. At the beginning of the week there was the power struggle but as the week progressed, so did she. I think we may have this in the bag!
~Looking outside my living room window to see a lady riding her 3 wheeler bicycle with her large Golden Retriever on a leash trotting along side with a small pug like dog in the back basket along for the ride

As we go through some tough times there are always the times that are sweet as the day is long! What are some things that made you smile this week?

2009 Will be the Year to Organize

One one of the scrapbooking sites I frequent they referenced a blog by Ali Edwards and choosing a word for the year. Well it didn't take me long to come up with my word.

My Word for 2009 is Organize

vt arrange: to arrange the components of something in a way that creates a particular structure
vt make somebody more effective: to apply or impose efficient working methods in order to work effectively or make somebody else work effectively

I used to be this super organized person. I don’t know what happened that made me lose my direction but I remember the time when my Christmas presents were all bought and wrapped by October; my bills were always paid on time; my laundry was always caught up; and my dishes were always done.

Now, as I am a full time mom and I work full time, my bills are paid yes, but everything else has fallen by the way side. My laundry has it’s own weather system, and my dishes (as they are rinsed) get used up each and every one before they see the dishwasher. And well, as I have Maribel’s stuff all in order, everything else just waits. I never thought that being a working mom would have this type of effect on me. As I care and tend to our precious gift from Heavenly Father, I realized that I need to set a better example for this daughter we share.

In my life I am surrounded with organization, with my church being orderly, my work being very organized, what happened to me? Well no more I say! I will claim back my peace of mind that I will gain from order and coordination! Look out 2009 because here I am ready with my guns a blazin’ !!!

……now to start a load of laundry.
