sometimes I just can't help myself

My sweet sister in-law had surgery this week to have her Gallbladder removed and I don't think I have ever met anyone so excited for surgery before her. And since I have a warped sense of mind, I made her a little Gallbladder buddie that she can carry with her so she won't feel so empty. ;0)

hee hee I couldn't resist

How 'bout a nice juicy steak? My treat!
Get well soon sweetie!

Happy Thanksgiving

I have so much to be thankful for <3.
My happy healthy family and watching them play together, being happy and healthy myself, my faith that brings me so much peace and joy, my wonderful network of friends from all over the continent, and being Canadian so I can celebrate 2 Thanksgivings!

So what are you thankful for?

it was a dark and stormy night...

...that was the weather when I left for home this evening. I was thankful I had layers on because I used one of my shirts as an umbrella while I ran to my car. Literally ran, only to step into a nice deep puddle. Nice.

Speaking of puddles, I realized that I hadn't shared my one LO I created of my little puddle jumper.

Whenever it rains she begs to go outside and leaves no puddle unjumped. She is my sunshine on a stormy day.

If you have never experienced Florida rain before, imagine your bathwater dumped straight down. Voila. Florida rain.

my girl

For the longest while I have wanted to convert one of Maribel's well loved board books into a mini book for her and so, I did.

Here's a close up of the back of some packaging I had laying around and reused it to create an overlay

It's hard to tell but I used a transparency for protective overlays for the cover and back because I know that Maribel isn't exactly the most gentile with some things (something that we are working with her on)Here's what the book looked like before. It was a freebee that came in a kids meal (so much better then a toy in my opinion;0) and as you can see she loved it. Maybe a little too much...

For being my first one of these, I'm really happy with how it turned, out I sense some more in the near future. =)

And here are the two pages I created for our online crop at SkrapnChat (the ones I gave a sneek peek to earlier this week)

and

enjoy the rest of the weekend!

bitter sweet

This visit was too short! But I don't think any time frame is ever long enough when my family comes down to visit. At least in my books.

This was the first time my brother Dave has visited Florida so he had his list of must do’s which included fishing, going to the beach, and paying a visit with Mickey. The tides were rough, so rough that he lost his snorkle and came back with a broken flipper. And If it wasn't for Joe there wouldn't be any proof that he caught any fish, and well, you can see how the kid pops out when visiting the Mouse. LOLMaribel is one lucky girl! She has 2 uncle Philip’s and she adores them both! This visit Maribel really attached herself to her Uncle Phil (with 1 ‘L’). They played a lot together. It was so sweet and brought tears to my eyes on several occasions when I would sneak peeks at them playing. So this is what my dad looks like 150 lbs lighter! Such and inspiration!
This was his 4th visit to Florida and this time we took him to Disney for the first time, revisited the beach, and ended it with something extra special that I will never forget. On the last day, Dad and I visited the Orlando temple and had him sealed to his parents for all time and eternity. Words cannot express the emotions felt, so powerful and so sacred. What a way to end a trip.

Until next time dad and bros! Hopefully I’ll be the one crossing the border next time =)
